Student Support Resources

As part of an ongoing effort to provide institutional support to online learners, I worked as a lead designer and curriculum developer on a resource library for all online students to ensure they have the tools they need to be successful online learners. I also designed & developed an accredited university course for students to develop skills needed for online & university-level learning.

Online Student Support Resource Library

This resource library was an open course available to all online students at the university. Its purpose was to give students resources and knowledge to be successful online learners. It was provided to online learners directly from the institution’s online program. Watch the video for an overview of the various features we included in this open course. Also, check out this article on why providing institutional support for online learning programs is essential!

Effective Study & Learning

The purpose of this course was to teach online students practical study and learning strategies to be successful in college. We emphasized teaching students how to use various technical tools they are often required to use in other courses. Students completed assignments by applying learning strategies to their other classes. They created a portfolio that included different learning strategies they implemented over the semester which could serve as a personal resource library for them as they continued their educational careers.

Watch the video for a brief overview of some critical instructional design choices we made to ensure students could be successful in this course.
